2023-2025 Sketches and Line Art

Despite my focus on making the characters in my pieces slightly more anatomically accurate in much of my work, I also aimed to practice drawing a variety of dynamic expressions as a means of combining realism and more fictional elements to create a bit of a middle ground in my style similar to how anime characters were often depicted. Furthermore, I also started to branch out and portray my art in another type of visual media. Taking inspiration from a number of audio tracks that were available/used on Instagram's video posts (i.e., Reels), I started taking an interest in displaying short moments that would relay a bit of a story to the audience in the form of these videos/reels. I decided to use and build upon my sketches and line art for many of these posts, which allowed me to shift between different expressions and movements more easily throughout the course of creating each image. These reels and sequential posts allowed me to incorporate my studies as a digital media production major and practice developing storyboards in a cinematically gripping manner for those viewing them.
